Tamarindo, Guanacaste is located along the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. From the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Tamarindo is pleasant 45 minute drive. If you fly into the San Jose International Airport you will enjoy a drive through the countryside and be in Tamarindo in about 4 hours.
The village of Tamarindo is an enjoyable 20 minute walk either on the beach or the quaint country road from the Bahia Langosta condominiums. There you will find all types of restaurants, fun shops and happy street vendors selling their wares. There is an amazing selection of restaurants ranging from fine international cuisine to typical Costa Rican fare with prices to fit anyone's budget.
In Tamarindo you will find grocery stores, fresh produce, fruit juice and smoothies and a variety of souvenier and clothing shops. There are also banks, an ATM, a casino, a disco and Internet cafes.
Tamarindo's climate has two seasons, the dry season and the green season. The green season begins in late April or early May and continues through October. A typical day is sunny or partly cloudy until late afternoon or evening when showers come through and then move offshore. Often times this produces some incredible sunsets. Temperatures range between 80 and 100 degrees farenheit year round.
